\nThe Siegfried plan is a demonstration that Congress can cure unemployment, bank failures, business depression, and enlarge the volume of money and credit, by exercising its constitutional power to regulate the value of money. The Siegfried plan was no doubt his own solution to the monetary problems encountered during the Great Depression of the 1930s.
